South Park Theatre, Inc. (25-1762292) took over operation of the theatre
facility in South Park in 1995. In our inaugural season, we offered
four main stage and two children’s theatre productions. Now in
our thirteenth season, we have grown to eight main stage and five children’s
theatre productions, more than doubling our offerings. In that time
we have consistently increased in both attendance and revenue. We have
increased the size of our subscription base each year, and continue
to attract new customers to both the main stage performances, as well
as to children’s theatre.
South Park Theatre’s mission is to provide quality, affordable
mainstream theatre to both adults and children in Allegheny County.
We strive to continually meet and exceed our artistic goals:
To consistently increase the artistic quality of our shows by:
-
Attracting and developing a quality volunteer actor base
-
Recruiting and hiring professional directors
-
Fostering and mentoring young professional designers
-
To select a variety of audience pleasing, yet artistically challenging
plays.
-
To expose our audiences to a wide variety of the work available
in our field by:
-
Selecting scripts from many genres including dramas, comedies,
farces, musicals, mysteries and biographies
-
Select from both established playwrights and emerging playwrights
representing different ethnicities and backgrounds and genders.
South Park Theatre is committed to keeping theatre affordable for our
community. Mainstage tickets are $11 for non musicals and $15 for musicals.
Our Children’s Theatre tickets are only $2. In order to keep these
ticket prices affordable, we rely on the generous gifts of our audience,
local corporations and funding organizations. In order to continue creating
and to constantly move forward in our creative process it is necessary
to find new and additional sources of funding at all times. All donations
to South Park Theatre are considered tax deductible contributions to
a 501(c)3 nonprofit institution.

A sponsorship allows you to direct the use of your gift and enables

Internships
Sponsor an intern, and directly affect your community one person at
a time. South Park Theatre offers a number of internships for college
and high school students who are interested in exploring theatre as
a vocation or as an avocation. Interns receive extensive hands-on training
in the theatre field. This training not only prepares them for the professional
world of theatre, but provides valuable tools for a young person going
into any business. Our interns receive a small weekly stipend.
We would love to customize a sponsorship proposal for your business.
